Artist/ designer/ teacher Peri Sossaman has been fascinated with color, texture, light and form using various media - painting, sculpture, silversmithing, gardening and floral design. Her work has appeared in national and regional exhibitions and shows.
From Paints to Pebbles
After many years, Peri has returned to working with stones and metals once again. Creating jewelry pieces is a natural extension of her previous work. From her watercolors she brings the play of color and light. From her sculpture and gardening she brings her love of texture and form.
Elements
All kinds of stones and pebbles are the elements of her designs. Their shape, color, texture and quality of light, are what she works with. The feel of a smooth river stone, the play of light through a faceted crystal or the luster of pearl and patina of metal and wood are the inspiration.
Creative Process
Peri is intrigued by the unexpected: shells brought in by the tide, fossils uncovered from the earth, ethnic carved beads traded around the world. She enjoys the challenge of composing with disparate elements and often her work is eclectic in style.
Custom designs are welcome.
